Shah Rukh no more part of 'save Dutt' drive


Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan on Monday dissociated himself from the 'Save Sanjay Dutt Campaign' on the Internet hours after Ujjwal Nikam, the public prosecutor in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, threatened legal action against those who were campaigning against the six-year jail term for Dutt.

Three days back, Mumbai's film fraternity had launched an online petition - www.petitiononline.com - expressing their solidarity with Dutt. The petition has been signed by nearly 2,000 people in the past three days and it was to be submitted to President Pratibha Patil.

Some of people named as signatories of the petition included Shah Rukh Khan, Bobby Deol, John Abraham, Dia Mirza, Farhan Akhtar, Mohit Ahlawat, Dabboo Ratnani, Atul Agnihotri, Manav Gangwni and Ritesh Sidhwani.

There is even a message for Dutt on the petition, which is attributed to SRK. "Sanjay, we are here for you and support you throughout. The film industry has faced a loss for six years not having you around. We love you and are praying for the best. Hope to see you soon. Inshallah," the message reads....... Read More
